Tonight Nova had the best program I’ve seen on solar energy. Check your local listings at pbs.org Honey We’re Killing the Kids is a new reality tv show that airs on TLC. Dr. Lisa Hark takes on a unhealthy family in each show. After a myriad of tests, Dr. Hark finds that the family in the first episode is suffering from a seriously unhealthy life style. Through special computer technology which [...] Tomorrow plans to be the best night in Television. On Fox, Prison Break returns with new episodes, and it’s followed by 24. The shows are by some standards preposterous, but, they are the most engaging well written dramas that Fox has had in a long time. If you’re around a TV with nothing better to [...] I couldn’t watch the State of the Union Address this week, but I did hear about our suddenly apparent addiction to oil. Worldchanging has an article on Flex Fuels which are being advertised on the other big television event of the week. During the Super Bowl, GM is going to advertise it’s new Flex Fuel [...] I’m watching an old Nova on Roman baths. They were heated radiantly. In the show they make a new Roman bath. It’s a good look into the engineering of Rome. This was a civilisation that built very large and elaborate structures without power-tools. The water is heated with a boiler. The boiler and the radiant heater use [...] It’s cold outside and I’m being a homebody. Later I’m broiling a steak, but right now I’m watching TV. I just found a new show on HGTV: Freestyle. They just move the stuff you have in your home around so that it works better. The host Aaron Foster started out almost comically exuding this seventies vibe, but he has character, and can move around a room at least as well as I can. But more amazingly, was the Spanish channel that is always airing great 90’s sci-fi. It’s always dissapointing to be channel surfing and come to a great movie on it, and realize I can’t understand a thing being said. But Meteor Man is easy enough to understand. If you haven’t seen it, It stars Robert Townsend as a schoolteacher that gets hit by a glowing green meteorite and gains super powers so that he can fight some drug lords. The scene when the bloods and crips join together to help Meteor Man is heartwarming. I added it to my Netflix Queue. |
